From the couch

It rained through all of Saturday night, and now autumn is here!
Can't wait to wear jeans and sweaters, can't wait to be cold :-).

Ex-man went camping over the weekend, and I felt so much better.
Relaxed, peaceful and calm, and no parts of me in his space. Because we live in such close proximity to each other,
I am always aware if he is home or not, if his lights are on, if he has visitors...

I do not want to pay attention, but I still do.

This weekend put my mind at ease about Eva and the separation. She told me three times that this was
'the best Easter ever!'. We had a beautiful breakfast with friends, an Easter egg hunt, dog walks in new and exciting
places, and some snuggling up and reading and movie watching.

Seems like when I am ok, she will be ok.

This morning I got the down duvet out of the cellar, and I moved from my summer couch to my winter couch.
It is a great place to drink tea, think, read, and listen to a soundtrack of giggles and high screams produced by Eva
and her friend (must have something to do with One Direction...)

Couch impressions:

Eva gave me the 'The Simple Things' magazine for Easter. She knows me well :-):

Pretty feet:

And a pretty lamp:

Looking for the perfect spot on her winter snuggle-up place:

The Easter bunny is hanging out above the couch:

One of these days, I will clean my windows:

A beautiful Easter Monday dear friends!

Lots of love,

  1. Hallo Jutta,

  2. and you too! Yes, I think what kids need most, is that their parents are in a good 'space' and ok. Glad you had a lovely Easter and weekend and hope you enjoy the rest of the afternoon. Wish I could send you some of the cold and snow from here... and sit on the couch and chat with you before it arrives ;) Sei lieb umarmt, Jutta!

  3. It seems odd that you are embracing the cooler fall temperatures while I am delighted with a little spring warmth and sunshine. I think it's only natural to watch (spy?) on someone who was such a big part of your life and now is so disconnected from you. Just don't pick up his phone messages. You'll still be embarrassed to think you did that, years later!

  4. Having to live so close to the ex would be most uncomfortable for me! You've had years of considering all that "space" as a part of your life. It will take time for it to take on new meaning. I'd say a move might help, but I know you've put much time and effort into making your home a very special place.

  5. So glad your ex-man's camping trip brought you a weekend of peace and serenity. So glad it was 'the best Easter ever'. Your pictures are all so beautiful and though I have been desperate for Spring to arrive, your pictures make me nostalgic for the winter that has recently just passed.

  6. Yay for "the best Easter ever"..I often wish I had recorded some of my daughter's joy to replay for myself later! As for the "ex-voyeurism", can't be helped. I found that a whole town was too small for me when it came to that with my ex. When I did have days that I didn't look or wonder, people told me anyway! So, I moved. Only time will tell if you can maintain that living arrangement. I found that I could not. I am rather fascinated by that interesting rock that looks like some kind of egret. Did you make it?

  7. Beautiful pics. God bless autumn, we're melting here in Mexico! I'm glad you're feeling peaceful and spending quality time with yourself and Eva! :)Those who are arround us definitely share our moods, I guess that's particularly true with children. Big hugs dear!

  8. Nice post. I learn something more challenging on different blogs everyday. It will always be stimulating to read content from other writers and practice a little something from their store. I’d prefer to use some with the content on my blog whether you don’t mind. Natually I’ll give you a link on your web blog. Thanks for sharing.

  9. An impressive share, I just given this onto a colleague who was doing a little analysis on this. And he in fact bought me breakfast because I found it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love reading more on this topic. If possible, as you become expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more details? It is highly helpful for me. Big thumb up for this blog post!
