A kind of advent wreath

This coming Sunday will be the first Advent Sunday.

I love the tradition of lighting an additional candle on each of the four Sundays leading up to Christmas.

This year our two spindly firs have very little green on them (missing the rain like everything else here),
so I didn't do a traditional advent wreath.

Instead I used four mason jars, four candles that I put on glasses inside the jars to lift them a bit higher,
and various things I found in the garden.

Then I added four of the clay stars Eva and I made last year:

A wonderful Thursday to you!

Lots of love,

  4. I love it Jutta! Love the natural elements inside the jars too! A weekly advent...I might accomplish that one! I'm never going to get around to a full 30 days!! Great photos as usual!
