One of the stalls at the German fleamarket we went to during the holidays had a lot of old books.
I tried to buy one, but the lady decided that for the price of one I have to take a whole stack.
They have gorgeous old-fashioned covers and drawings, so I schlepped them halfway across the world.
Unfortunately Eva isn't really interested in reading them (and quite frankly, neither am I).
So today I took one of the books and turned it into a notebook of sorts. I love drawing or painting on
printed pages anyway, and the lovely old book looks even nicer now.
If you want to do one too, just cut a lot of paper with different colors or patterns into the same size as
your book pages, and glue them in:
Have a wonderful day!
Lots of love,
Ps: I am linking to these lovely parties.

ReplyDeleteLG, Andrea
That looks cool! Great idea, love the different paper you stuck in.

I just love old books and I really like what you did with this one.
ReplyDeleteOld books are great. The artwork was so much more detailed than it tends to be now. That's a great idea for re-using one.
ReplyDeleteFun Idea.
ReplyDeleteI'm liking this and it has a pretty cover, too. For basically nothing. That's nice. Gotta go to tag sales and find some. Usually books are .25 so it's almost free. Visiting from Katherine's Link Party. Take care, Linda

Well, that's original. I like it. Here at the library they are constantly giving away their vintage books ... Can you imagine it... vintage books with italian scripts.... yes, delicious. but i am running out of time/space on making things from them...
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, thank you for linking it up at our linky party!
What a super idea. So happy you chose to link it at Seasonal celebration:-) Thank you! Rebecca x
