I took the weekend off from blogging to do some of the things that I like to leave until they can't be avoided any longer.
One of those is pulling out weeds. I love everything green and find it quite difficult to classify something as 'weed'.
In my garden, if it grows without pampering it is normally welcome.
But right now there are (a lot) of plants that are seeding, and that have very sticky long black seeds that hang on to everything. No idea what the scientific name is, they are called 'widowers' here, because they cling to everybody who happens to walk past...
So, a lot of these widowers got removed, the chicken house is spick and span and shiny (still no eggs), and the
storeroom is sorted!
Feeling very virtuous I switched my computer back on after its two-day rest, and what do I find:
An award!
Thank you so much dear Amalie!!!!! What a lovely surprise :-) :-) :-).
And it is so pretty:
Just like Amalie's blog, Amalie loves Denmark. Check out her pancake cake with strawberries.
I had to hide that particular post from my daughter, otherwise we would have had to make it straight away, and I really wanted to work off some things from the procastination list.
The only slight draw-back to getting this award is that I now have to reveal seven things about myself.
While I was still contemplating what to tell you I got an email from Gleeful asking me to participate in a blog tag.
This means I have to answer some questions she posted and am now able to kill two birds with one stone (who invented that? There must be some nicer ways to say the same thing. How about eating two cakes with one mouth, or loving a hundred people with one heart, or spreading joy to 15 blogs with one award, which is what I will do after answering the questions :-) ).
Ok, here we go (I have selected 7 out of the 11 questions):
1. Who or what inspires you the most?
What inspires me the most are my clients. It is so empowering when people decide that they had enough of always following in the same patterns, having the same buttons pushed, getting upset, sad or angry about the same things.
Having people open up about things they have pushed down for years makes me love humanity so much.
It is humbling and so beautiful at the same time.
2. What is the best part of your day?
This is a draw. The best parts of my day are dusk and dawn. I love the quiet of the early mornings, I love to see the night getting slowly lighter and to see the sun rise; but I also love the early evening, watching the sun set, sitting in my garden with a cup of tea or a glass of wine and slowly winding down.
3. What is your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite memory might sound a bit odd, but for me this was such a defining moment, something I still remember nearly every day.
My dad is a physicist. When I was around six years old, we were standing in the dining room looking out of the window.
I asked him if the chair behind us is still there even if we can't see it, and he said he doesn't know.
It reminds me to this day not to be too sure in my opinions, and not to be too attached to the image I have of myself, and of how I think the world works.
4. What is the best gift you have ever received?
I know this sounds like a cliche but it is without doubt my daughter. Every day I am grateful that I am allowed to share my life with her.
5. If you could have dinner with any famous person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Guy Finley. He is a spiritual teacher from Oregon, and in my opinion, one of the wisest people alive today.
6. What is something new that you have learned in the last month?
To keep my mouth shut and take a deeeeeeep breath before exploding. I managed to do that in a very challenging situation that pushed all my buttons, and am quite proud of myself. Took me only about 30 years to get here...
7. What is something that you wish you could do one day but haven't tried yet?
Spend a month in a monastery somewhere in the Himalayas.
And here now the 15 blogs I would like to pass the award on to:

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Jutta! I am completely and utterly overwhelmed....!!! I feel honored, especially because I'm quite a newbie :)
ReplyDeleteYou might be a newbie but you have a great blog and cool ideas and very good taste! So you are entirely welcome :-)
DeleteHow nice! You're so sweet to pass along the love to me. I like your new ways of saying "kill two birds with two stones". Well, gotta fly for now, its nap time and my darlings are running laps squealing at each other. :)

Hi Jutta! Thanks so much for passing an award back to me - and it was so great to read your answers to the questions. I love what your dad said about not knowing if the chair was still there. What an interesting question from six-year-old you! It's so amazing how kids think - just a totally different perspective. I'll definitely pass this award along - I'll add it to my to-do list! Thanks again. :)
