Today I would like to take you with to my friend Imke Rust.
Imke is a great artist who divides her time between Windhoek and Berlin.
I went to visit her, explored her house, fell in love with two of her paintings, and ate the most delicious strudel her mom had backed.
Her place is wonderfully inspirational. There is something to discover in every corner, little artworks, big artworks, quirky touches, paint brushes, chinese good-luck symbols and a big orange cat on the comfiest chair.
While Imke tells me that she would love to have a minimalistic house like mine, I am very drawn to her colorful treasure chest.
Here are some impressions for you to enjoy. All the artworks if not otherwise stated are by Imke:
This is a self portrait by photographer Leigh Daniz:
There is something about this picture that I really like:
These colorful boxes are made out of fruit juice containers. A cool way to recycle:
This is a photo of a land art project Imke did out of salt blocks:
Lovely Imke:
If you want to know more about Imke and her art, check out her website and her blog.
Enjoy the weekend, I am now going to retire to my couch :-)
