The story of little blanket
My last visit to Germany was in October.
The weather was beautiful but there was already a slight chill in the air, a whisper of the cold to come, still far away but detectable nonetheless.
It was the perfect time to start a crochet blanket, little squares slowly multiplying as the temperature drops.
I was full of enthusiasm and a lot of little squares got produced.
Then I returned to Namibia and all of a sudden it was summer.
And very, very hot....
I managed to finish the blanket, the white getting slightly grey from my sweaty fingers, and then I packed it away.
It was just too out of place in the dry heat and scorching sun of my adopted country.
Until yesterday, when it started to rain.
The sky is grey, there is even a (very slight) chill in the air.
Looking for comfort I opened the cupboard, and there it was! Cuddly and lovely and only a little bit annoyed at the treatment it received.
I promised to hold it dear from now on and to pass it on to the children of my children.
Wishing you lots of love and a cozy place to snuggle up :-)
