How to make a tassel belt

We managed to wake up in time this morning AND we managed to be in a good mood :-).

Eva was very much looking forward to seeing her friends again, and I was very much looking forward
to an uninterrupted morning pottering about.

Luckily it is still quite calm work-wise.

So while playing around doing research I came across a wonderful website called P.S. I made this.

This incredibly talented woman finds things she likes from the catwalk and makes them herself.
Check out her website, she did some gorgeous stuff!

One of the projects I loved is a wide belt with tassels.
(Does it actually count to publish a tutorial to something somebody else came up with? Not sure about the
internet etiquette here, please advice.)

Anyway, you know now that it wasn't my idea so here we go:

You need a piece of leather, fabric or artificial leather (this is what I used), a piece of rope and two tassels.

Cut the fabric in a stripe 10 - 12 cm wide (3,9 to 4.7 inches) and long enough that it reaches nearly
around your waist

Round of the corners

Make two slits on both sides of the belt

Pull the rope through

I couldn't find any tassels in the right color so I decided to make some myself out of the same fabric.
Cut two rectangular pieces and then cut them into stripes, leaving a piece at the top uncut

Glue it onto the rope with fabric glue

And here is your belt!

The whole thing takes about 10 minutes, especially if you remember to cut the second tassle into stripes too
before glueing it on :-).

I am linking to these beautiful parties.

And now I have to be really quick with making lunch...

Have a gorgeous, wonderful, glorious day and remember to be happy :-)
